WATERTOWN — A Sackets Harbor woman faces a restitution payment of almost $100,000 after she admitted to providing false information to obtain public benefits for about nine years.
Brittiany V. Thorp, 42, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny Tuesday in Jefferson County Court. She faces a possible sentence of up to five years probation and a restitution payment of $95,960.95 at her sentencing on Sept. 4.
Ms. Thorp admitted to acquiring more than $50,000 in benefits from the Jefferson County Department of Social Services by filing documents with false information between July 2008 and June 2017.
