Sullivan County Arrests

The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has arrested:

May 28th 2021 – Shannon N. Macedon 42 of Monticello was arrested and charged with the Class E Felony of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, the Class D Felony of Welfare fraud in the Third Degree and the Class D Felony of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.  It is alleged that Macedon stole $4,629.20 in Temporary Assistance by failing to report that she was collecting Unemployment Insurance and by submitting two Applications for temporary Assistance to the Department of Family Services that contained false information. Macedon was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Liberty Court at a later date.

 

June 1st 2021 – James B. Wright 59 of Jeffersonville was arrested and charged with the Class E Felony of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, the Class E Felony of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and the Class A Misdemeanor of Theft of Services.  It is alleged that Wright stole $1,546.32 by using Medical Transportation for non-medical purposes and submitting trip tickets to the Department of Family Services that contained false information.  Wright was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Liberty Court at a later date.

 

June 9th 2021 – Brett R. Miano 30 of Wurtsboro was arrested and charged with the Class E Felony of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, the Class E Felony of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and the Class E Felony of Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree.  It is alleged that Miano stole $2,250.00 in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) by failing to report income he was receiving from his employer and by submitting SNAP Application(s) to the Department of Family Services that contained false information.
