The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has arrested:
May 11th 2021 – Joseph Hernandez 39 and Damaris Hernandez 34 of Loch Sheldrake were arrested and charged with the 3 counts of the Class E Felony of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, the Class D Felony of Welfare fraud in the Third Degree, the Class D Felony of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and the Class A Misdemeanor of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree. It is alleged that the Hernandez’s stole $6790.00 by failing to report that Joseph was living in the home and working they submitted recertification’s to the Department of Family Services containing incorrect information relating to the household composition. Damaris Hernandez was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Liberty Court at a later date. Joseph Hernandez was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail pending a later appearance in that court.
