The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has arrested:
September 30th 2021 – Detectives arrested Samantha E. Cleveland-Fuller 36 of Monticello on a Town of Liberty Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. Cleveland-Fuller was arrested for Transportation Fraud in 2019, and she failed to return to court after her initial appearance(s). Cleveland-Fuller was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division for processing and was ultimately released on an Appearance Ticket to return to the Town of Liberty Court at a later date.
October 26th 2021 – A joint investigation with members of the New York State Department of Financial Services, Frauds Bureau and Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has resulted in the arrest of Christina M. Melendez 35 of Swan Lake for Offering a False Instrument in the First Degree a class E Felony, Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony. It is alleged that Melendez stole $ 1,170.00 in SNAP Benefits by failing to report on her application that she was also receiving Unemployment Insurance Benefits. Melendez was processed and released on an Appearance Ticket to return to the Town of Liberty Court at a later date.
October 29th 2021 – Detectives spotted Robert L. Dunn 23 of Monticello in a vehicle at the Sullivan County Government Center, Detectives knew Dunn had active warrants out of the Village of Monticello. Dunn was contacted and taken into custody without incident and turned over to Monticello Police.
November 1st 2021 – Matthew R. Lowe 26 of Liberty was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the Third Degree a class D Felony. It is alleged that Lowe stole $3,700.00 in Public Assistance by failing to report that he was also collecting Unemployment Insurance Benefits. Lowe was processed and released on an Appearance Ticket to return to the Town of Liberty Court at a later date.
November 24th 2021 – In a joint Investigation with the Monticello Housing Authority and the Monticello Police Department, Chanda M. Oladipo 35 of Monticello was arrested and charged with Offering a False Instrument in the First Degree a class E Felony and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony. It is alleged that Oladipo stole $2,079.00 in Housing Benefits by filing an Application for Benefits and Recertification(s) with the Monticello Housing Authority that contained false information. Oladipo was arrested by the Monticello Police Department and released on an Appearance Ticket to return to the Village of Monticello Court at a later date.
